I keep hearing about how Republicans are using scare tactics to try and demoralize Democrats this mid-term election cycle. But it sounds like the same old thing to me.
Except for one stark exception. This is the first election which has been held since the Supreme Court decided 5-4 in January of 2010 in the case, of Citizens United vs. The Federal Election Commission. That is the ruling that the Supreme Court decided which gives corporations as equal a voice as any individual when it comes to election spending.
So, Republicans, do you want to hear something really scary?
All this outrage, all this anger coming from the right - has been a ruse by the world’s largest corporations to get you to vote for the things and the people who will best represent their interests in America’s future - and you’d better know before you vote that their best interest is not in your best interest.
Since corporations have been able to spend all they want this election season, and they seem to be spending overwhelmingly to convince you to vote Republican, then you’d better look closely at who you’re supporting, because if Republicans sweep into power this fall, it’s going to get really ugly.
If corporations are allowed to be victorious on November 2nd, you’ll lose big because it will give confidence to all corporations to spend… because it worked. And with that confidence moving forward, there will be no end to the spiraling up of the spending. It doesn’t even have to work 100% of the time. It only has to work a little more than half of the time and they’ll take that risk. But they’ll be gambling, once again, with your dollars - the same as they were just before Wall Street collapsed.
If corporations win on November 2nd, you’ll be a virtual employee of GOP, incorporated. And they won’t stop spinning or spending until they have every last dime. Why should they care if it destroys America? These richest 2% call anywhere in the world home. They have no loyalty to the United States of America beyond how it makes them richer. And when they have all they can carry, they’ll load it onto their private jets and their luxury yachts and they’ll go wherever it suits them. 2% of the population can have this much influence over you, and that doesn’t at least set off alarm bells in your head?
So November 2nd you vote Republican across the board, you’re so damned angry and frustrated. Perfect. It's right where they want you to be. So blind with rage that blindness will extend into the ballot box. Pull that lever for the Republicans and you literally become an employee of GOP Inc. What are your new employers going to do?
First they're going to try and take away the health benefits you’ve worked for years to achieve for you and your family. Because that’s how corporations save money. If they weren’t interested in saving money for the corporation, then the corporations wouldn’t be spending hundreds of millions of dollars for your vote. Why would they do that unless they were going to recoup their investment, and make more profit as well. And how much is that going to cost? You believe they’re spending this money out of the goodness of their hearts? They’re going to demand that money back, as well as substantial interest and profit.
The next thing GOP Inc. will do is tie up congress with meaningless, purposeless, valueless matters, investigations and allegations which will serve only to once again tie up the congress for months and years at a time. It’s what they’ve been doing for ten years, right up and until this upcoming election. There isn’t a Republican out there who can give you specific details on how they will cut excessive spending while extending tax cuts to the richest 2% of Americans… you know, the people who can live anywhere on earth and are always just a short private jet flight away from it all? And you’re still buying this crap that’s being spun by Fox News, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch, a non-American-born multi-billionaire? This doesn’t trouble you in the least?
By the time the dust settles on November 3rd, a whole new America will emerge. It will either be a stronger, leaner America with the two-party system intact, or it will become the world’s biggest new corporation, and you’ll all be punching the clock as an employee… working for people, remember, who don’t even want there to be a minimum wage at all and would destroy every union - their "enemy" - if they could.
You want jobs, jobs, jobs? Be careful what you wish for on November 2nd. Because you’ll be hired on to work for GOP Inc, and the best career you’ll hope for from that point forward will likely be at the end of a spatula.
Welcome to GOP Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of 2% of the wealthiest people in the world.
Thank you for sweeping the Republicans into unlimited power on November 2nd. Your votes will no longer be needed.
